General Assembly Anniversary, 104th Year

This morning I attended the 104th anniversary of the General Assemblies of the Church of God movement. What a blessing it is to return to the site of something special God began just a few generations ago. 104-years-ago 21 delegates gathered to find the will of God and to be accountable to one another. Today, over 10 million people across the globe trace their roots to this site. This number does NOT include the millions who have already gone on to their reward.

The service was moderated by Bishop Wayne Allen, caretaker of the Fields of the Wood, along with special singing, comments by our General Overseer, Bishop Randall Howard and the message by Bishop John A. Stone, the pastor of Keith Street Ministries in Cleveland. Bishop Stone shared a message on “HOLINESS” that should be heard by everyone in our movement. We were also blessed by members of the Murphy Church of God (Cleveland Assembly) who ministered with music.

After the celebration, delegates of this anniversary service gathered again at the cafe in Fields of the Wood.

This year, I represented the people of Tennessee, and Bishop Billy Adams represented the people of Georgia and Bishop Tim Coalter represented the people of South Carolina. Many of our International Offices department leaders were in attendance at this special gathering as well.

We are so blessed to stand on the shoulders of Godly men and women in the generations before us, and by God’s grace we will fulfill their vision to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
