Alice Griffin, 94, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, in a local health care facility.

She was a member of the Keith Street Church of God of Prophecy, where she was very active and served on the finance committee. She and her husband, Adrian T. Griffin, served in the ministry for many years at churches in Texas, California and Tennessee.

She retired from the Holiday Inn in Cleveland and was a well- known seamstress for many people in Cleveland. She loved her church and all kinds of needlework and was also loved by many many people.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her son, Tommy W. Griffin and his wife, Laura E. from Bay City, Texas.; daughters: Barbara West and her husband, Lynn, of Ooltewah, and Evelyn Gillum and her husband, Perry, of Elizabethtown, Ky.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Keith Street Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Scott Gillum, the Rev. Perry Gillum, the Rev. Tommy Griffin and Pastor J.A. Stone officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jerry Adams, Joe Dotson, Pierce Gillum, Dennis Howard, Jerry Howard and Deston Hutcherson serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. until the service time, at the church.
