All of us have something to be thankful for. We all have times that life seems to be overwhelming, and the natural reaction is to be negatively affected by the circumstances in our lives. But there is much to be thankful for.
When counseling people who are going through difficult circumstances, I have often gave them the following instructions:
1. Get a piece of paper and a pencil.
2. Draw a line down the middle, from top to bottom, making two columns.
3. Label the left side blessings; Label the right side your problems.
4. Now fill in the columns, and see if your blessings outnumber your problems.
I have done this before and found that my blessings always outnumber my problems every time.
God is so good to us, and we can truly be thankful for all he has done.
